Author's note: Saturday was the annual open house at the Clark County Human Society animal shelter in rural Neillsville. There are many volunteers who help at the shelter. This is a story about one of them.

Everybody knows somebody who has a dog/puppy or cat/kitten, or more than one dog and cat. They make great companions for children and adults.

But for those pet lovers who can't have a dog or cat in their home, there's a place to visit them a few days a week and volunteer to help care for them. The Clark County Human Society animal shelter on Highway 73, Neillsville, held their annual open house ...
