Hunters safety course offered

The Portage County Sheriff's Office will offer a Department of Natural Resources hunter safety course from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 15, 16, 18, 19 and 22 at the Jensen Center, 487 N. Main St., Amherst. A range day also will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. July 20 at the Dewey Shooting Range.

The cost is $10 per student, and the class is limited to students 12 years and older.
