Letter: Walker can't fix feds mess

I recently read an open letter written by a very active member of the Democratic Party. Not surprisingly, the writer bashed Gov. Scott Walker and gave him an "F" for job growth, and brought up that constant Democrap about "the rich not paying their fair share."

Here are some observations I've made over the last several years. The people voting Democrat tend to be pretty easy to pigeon hole. They earn their living, are handed their living, or have their living supplemented in some large way, courtesy of the taxpayer, OR they belong to a union that simply tells them to vote Democrat.

The common denominator is generally the willingness to throw the tax payer under the bus for their own gain. Being limited to 350 words, I can't say everything that I would like, but suffice to say, that when a married couple (who happen to be family, a teacher and principal) are pulling $200,000 between them from the taxpayer's wallet, it pretty much makes my wallet cringe.

The bashing is because Walker tried to bring them to a level consistent with the rest of us in regards to pay and benefits. Job growth is impossible when our federal government drives the very people who give us jobs out of the country. Eighteen-hundred of our richest gave up their citizenship last year. I'll never make it out of lower middle class as long as things keep heading the way they are, but I still know what's right and wrong.

The top 10 percent of wage earners pay 50 percent of the tax burden and earn 47 percent of the income. I'd say they aren't getting over a bit. Problem is, the rich own the businesses that give us jobs. Until we quit overspending, and subsequently overtaxing, we're going to continue losing jobs because businesses will continue to fail, or move. One governor - regardless of intent - cannot overcome what the federal government has screwed up.
