Investigation continues into fatal crash

The driver of an SUV involved in a three-vehicle crash that killed an 85-year-old Wausau woman on Monday in Wausau claims a medical condition contributed to the crash, police said.

Frances M. Wilk, of Wausau, was killed in the crash, which happened at about 11 a.m. at the intersection of 17th and Stewart avenues in Wausau.

The SUV driver, whose name was not released, told police a medical condition contributed to the crash, according to a news release issued Wednesday by the Wausau Police Department. Investigators are combing through the man's medical records to corroborate his story, ...
