Investigation continues into fatal crash

Wausau Police continue to investigate a three-vehicle crash that left an 85-year-old Wausau woman dead.

Frances M. Wilk of Wausau was killed in the crash, which happened at about 11 a.m. Monday at the intersection of 17th and Stewart avenues in Wausau.

Police said Wilk was stopped at a traffic light behind a dual-axle Wisconsin Public Service Corp. truck when an SUV driven by a 51-year-old man slammed into the back of her car with such force that her vehicle was crushed almost entirely underneath the truck, police said. ...
