EMR groups balk at county 'agreement'

Local government officials in Door County are being urged to resist signing an agreement with the county concerning emergency medical responders (EMRs).

The agreement spells out county and local responsibilities relating to the first responders paged through Door County's 911dispatch center to provide first aid at accidents and other medical emergencies.

All Wisconsin EMRs have advanced first aid training and are schooled in the use of cardiac resuscitation and other emergency techniques. Some Door County EMRs are members of fire departments, while others belong to separate ...
