Downtown planning effort gets fired up

About 100 attend workshop on Green Bay future

If energy matters, and city officials argue it matters a lot, then the first downtown master plan public workshop bodes well for the future.

Sandra Ranck of Pulaski listed a bunch of things she'd like to see in downtown Green Bay, but also said that in the last couple of years, downtown "improved exponentially. The change has been all of a sudden and it will change a lot in the next five years."

The city last updated its downtown master plan in 1997. City Planner Nic Sparacio, who is leading the project, said an effort will be made to balance vision and reality, something the 1997 plan did not do well. ...
