"Dig Into Reading" is now happening at the Marathon County Public Libraries with events and programs planned for the whole family.
Children can join the Summer Reading Club just by signing up, and they will receive a special archaeological dig reading sheet. Once they complete the activities on this reading sheet, they can turn it in at the library and receive a treasure. Aug. 24 is the last day to participate with this activity.
Teens can go "Beneath the Surface" at any Marathon County Public Library and pick up a summer reading log or go online at www.mcpl.us/teenzone. Read 15 books or graphic novels and complete five activities that include attending teen events, writing short reviews or by voting in the Literary Smackdown to finish your reading log and receive an incentive. Are you up to the challenge?
Literary Smackdown - we want you to help us determine the most influential book in Marathon County with your vote. Each week during the summer, adults and teens will have the chance to vote online or in person for their favorite fiction and nonfiction books in a March Madness-style elimination bracket. Vote online at www.mcpl.us.
