There is nothing quite like home-canned tomatoes or crisp family-favorite dill pickles. "Preserving food from your garden or farmer's market during the summer can make for quick, and delicious familymeals later on," says Barbara Ingham, University of Wisconsin Extension food safety specialist, "but be sure to follow research-tested recipes for safe, high quality food that your family will enjoy."

The Winnebago County UW Extension office is offering a ser ies of lunchtim e learning opportunities so your summertime canning and food preservation activities will be based on up-to-date research-tested information. Each of these one-hour programs will be a chance to listen, learn, and ask questions of experts in the field. Join us for the next workshop in the series on "Canning Vegetables Safely" scheduled for Monday, July 1, from noon to 1 p.m.

Pre-registration is requested call 920-232-1970 to register.
