Club news: Toastmasters

The Sentry Toastmasters recently met, and Dick Hawley opened with a brief business meeting in which new officers for the next year were announced.

The application for membership of Brian Toelle was accepted, and he was voted in the club. Brian Cychosz was recognized for completing his 40th speech, attaining the designation of Advanced Communicator-Gold.

Toelle was introduced as Toastmaster for the meeting. The first speaker, Kristi Nelson, presented her final speech fulfilling her SpeechCraft requirement, using the acronym "FIRST CHOIS" for her title. Thomas Glavin presented his speech titled "That Man is You." Sid Siapush presented his speech titled "Media Bias."

The TopicsMaster was Linda Hammerschmidt introducing the meeting theme of "Remember When ?" James Kosmalski was General Evaluator, and his team featured the individual evaluators: Deborah Ginsburg, Brenda Anderson-Yesse and Matt Meis who also served as Ah Counter, Debbie Carcy served as Grammarian, and Joni Lodzinski served as Timer.

We welcome guests at our meetings to learn how you may commit to growing and developing your communication and leadership skills. The Sentry Toastmasters Club meets the second Thursday of each month at 4:30 p.m.
