Library boozing spurs beverage ban: Contraband booze is getting into the Brown County Library, so drinks of any kind will no longer be permitted.

Because booze and books don't mix, the Brown County Central Library is banning beverage containers of all kinds.

Beginning this summer, patrons with a thirst for anything but knowledge will have to walk to the water fountain or step outside. It will be against the rules to consume any beverage from a container at the downtown Green Bay facility.

Smoking will also be banned on library grounds. Currently, smoking is permitted if the smoker is at least 20 feet from an entrance. ...
