A homeowner was hospitalized Friday after catching two suspected burglars in his garage and engaging them in a physical altercation, police said.

The Brown County Sheriff's Department reported that two suspects were captured about one hour after the incident, which occurred about 3:45 a.m. in the 3600 block of Libal Street.

According to the sheriff's department, the unidentified homeowner was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The two suspects were taken into custody after being spotted walking with bicycles on Brown County GV near Brown County G.

Police are seeking charges of armed robbery, aggravated battery, burglary and more.

The sheriff's department also is asking residents in Allouez, Bellevue and De Pere to check for indications that their garages or vehicles were burglarized overnight by the same suspects.
