Manitowoc Fourth of July festivities changing

This year's Fourth of July celebration on the lakeshore is going to be different than it has been in the past. The fireworks portion and community picnic, which used to be at Washington Park, will be combined into one lakeside bash.

The picnic starts at noon Thursday, with a bike ride preceding it at 10 a.m. The ride starts at the YMCA and ends at the Broken Spoke in Two Rivers, Mayor Justin Nickels said.
