Authorities investigating armed robbery of Markesan pharmacy

Authorities are investigating the armed robbery Thursday afternoon of the Agnesian Pharmacy in Markesan.

The Green Lake County Sheriff's department reports that a man armed with a pistol entered the pharmacy at 2:05 p.m. and demanded the prescription drug OxyContin. The man was dressed in faded blue jeans with ripped knees and a hooded black and red plaid jacket, and was wearing a tan face mask.

He left with an undisclosed amount of drugs through the front door of the pharmacy and headed south and west. A perimeter was set up by police, but officers were unable to locate the man. It is believed that he have left Markesan in an unknown vehicle.

A citizen found the mask and jacket about five miles north of Markesan on County Trunk A

The robbery remains under investigation by the Markesan Police Department with the assistance of the Green Lake County Sheriff's Office. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Markesan Police Department or Green Lake County Sheriff's Office, or through Green Lake County Crime Stoppers.
