Woodchucks report: Mallards blank Chucks on one-hitter

At the plate: Joey Rodriguez,who completed his freshman year at Wake Forest, singled to open the seventh inning for the Woodchucks' lone hit off Mallards starter Greg Welsh and two other pitchers. Welsh, a Penn State student-athlete, walked two and struck out seven in seven innings to earn his fourth win of the season. He also lowered his ERA to 2.25. Hunter May, of the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, earned his seventh save for Madison.
