Computer Magic hires Sachs

Computer Magic, 1511 Hoover Ave. in Plover, has hired Dale Sachs as a full-time networking technician. Sachs is a 2006 graduate of Mid-State Technical College with an associate degree in networking specialist.

Computer Magic has been in business since 2003, providing sales, service and repair of new technology televisions, computers and other business machines to businesses and families.

Stokes elected WCTA treasurer

Portage County Treasurer Stephanie Stokes recently was elected treasurer of the Wisconsin County Treasurer's Association. She will serve a two-year term as a member of its Executive Committee.

Stokes, who has been treasurer in Portage County for 12 years, currently is chairwoman of the WCTA Nominating Committee. She previously served as a district president and vice president, and as a member of the organization's technology committee.

The WCTA also has adopted a training manual and calendar of duties for county treasurers, written by Stokes, for use as a training tool for new county treasurers and as a reference resource for experienced county treasurers.
