Club hopes to push kids' passion for running

The passion for running is back in Stevens Point.

The Stevens Point Area Running Club hosted its first track meet Friday night at Goerke Field. Breeda Willis, co-founder, said the meet brought more than 100 young athletes to the track to compete in the 100, 200, 400 and 800 meters and the long jump. She said the goal of the club and track meets are to get local children involved in running at a younger age.
