Former girls coach faces 40 years in prison after 'unusual' verdict

A former high school girls basketball coach could face up to 40 years in prison even after a jury found him not guilty early Saturday morning on two of four counts of sexually assaulting a student he coached.

A jury of 11 women and one man found Rory McKellips, 56, of Mosinee, not guilty of repeated sexual assault of a child and of exposing his genitals and found him guilty of using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime and of obstructing an officer. He faces a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison on the third count.
