Hope House offers shelter, counseling, referrals

Heidi Koch is delighted to moving out of Hope House this week into her own place.

"I believe it is a great transitional house for the homeless," said Koch, who entered in March the shelter in the former rectory at St. Boniface Faith Formation Center, 1110 S. 10th St.

"They help you with a lot of resources to help you get a job or places that may help with therapy or housing assistance or counseling," said Koch. She works as a "direct support professional" for Beyond Abilities helping individuals with severe disabilities prepare meals, providing companionship and other services. "I really enjoy ...
