One of three people accused of cashing a dead relative's checks will not be heading to trial with the other two accused.

Dolores Disher, 70, of Almond, was declared incompetent Monday by Portage County Circuit Judge Thomas Flugaur as the result of a stroke she suffered while in Portage County Jail, meaning she will not stand trial on charges of Social Security fraud.

Disher, along with Charles Jost, 66, of Amherst, and Ronald Disher, 72, of Almond, are accused of cashing the Social Security checks of Charles and Dolores' mother, Marie Jost. Authorities have been unable to locate Marie Jost or ...
