New vascular procedure performed at HFM

Dr. Jeremy Scarlett of Advanced Pain Management recently became the first physician in the Manitowoc area to offer percutaneous tenotomy, an advanced new treatment for tendon pain, according to a press release.

Developed in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, this procedure is a minimally invasive treatment option for tendon and soft tissue injuries, such as tennis/golf elbow, jumper's knee, Achilles tendonitis and plantar fasciitis.

Percutaneous tenotomy is performed using a local anesthetic to numb the affected area, with patients awake and alert the entire time. During the ...
