Giorgio Tavecchio didn't really know what to expect when he walked into the Green Bay Packers' locker room for the first time in April.

Having spent a year out of football, the first-year kicker had followed Mason Crosby's struggles in 2012 closely and knew the reasons behind the Packers' decision to insert a street free agent and relative unknown into the team's kicking competition.
