YMCA kids triathlon scheduled for July 20

A kids triathlon will be held in conjunction with the Door County Triathlon on Saturday, July 20, at the Door County YMCA in Sturgeon Bay. It starts at 1:30 p.m.

The event is open to boys and girls ages 4 to 14. There will be three age divisions with varying distances for the swim, bike and run. Swimming will be held indoors and biking and running will be held around the YMCA grounds and nearby neighborhoods.

Cost is $25. Registration can be completed online at doorcountyymca.org or in-person at the YMCA, 1900 Michigan St.

Cheesehead Open July 27 at Royal Scot

The 11th annual Carrie Ann Renard Memorial/Cheesehead Open golf outing is scheduled for Saturday, July 27, at Royal Scot Golf Course in New Franken.

Registration begins at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.

The four-person scramble includes lunch, 18 holes of golf with a cart, prizes and dinner. Cost is $75 per player, with proceeds benefiting Southern Door girls athletics and DoorCANcer Inc.

Lumberjack Softball Tournament Aug. 24-25

The first annual Lumberjack Softball Tournament is scheduled for Aug. 24 and 25 at West Side Field in Sturgeon Bay.

The double-elimination slowpitch tournament is called the Lumberjack, because teams can only use wood bats. A 14-inch restricted-flight ball will also be used.

Bus trip planned for Brewers game

The City of Sturgeon Bay Parks and Recreation Department is organizing a bus trip to a Milwaukee Brewers game Wednesday, Aug. 21.

Cost is $30 per person and includes a ticket in section 228 of Miller Park. The bus leaves Sturgeon Bay at 9 a.m., and the Brewers play the St. Louis Cardinals at 1:10 p.m.
