Symphonic band to play Anderson Dock

The Peninsula Symphonic Band gives a free outdoor concert from 7 to 8 p.m. July 5 on historic Anderson Dock in Ephraim.

The performance is in honor of the Fourth of July holiday weekend, with toe-tapping music by a local community band. The program includes several traditional marches, a salute to the Armed Forces, a big band tribute and music from the film "The Magnificent Seven."

The 50-piece band is comprised of volunteer musicians who live and play from Algoma to Northern Door County. The organization was formed in 1990 and performs music of all styles, from Sousa marches and swing to movie ...
