Shawano hit-and-run victim was lying in road

The 22-year-old Upper Michigan man who was found dead early Friday on Shawano County M was lying in the road when he was struck by a vehicle, the Shawano County Sheriff's Department said.

Timothy J. Meade, of Stephenson, Mich., was found at 2:30 a.m. in the eastbound lane of County M at the Wisconsin 29 overpass, just west of Shawano. He is believed to have been struck by a pickup truck or an SUV headed east on County M within the half-hour before his his body was found.
