County should hold vote on jail, Little River supervisor says

A city of Oconto committee last week agreed to Oconto County's request to remove a provision about a referendum on the proposed county law enforcement center in an agreement with the town of Little River.

The town, however, appears not inclined to do so - a move that could prompt the Oconto County Board to find a new site for the long-sought jail or even move ahead on the current site without the town's cooperation.

The county's administrative coordinator, Kevin Hamann, said that alternative is not the preference of the County Board. ...
