Q: I am a little confused. What is flexibility training?

A: Great question! Flexibility is the joint's ability to move through a full range of motion. Flexibility (stretching) helps balance muscle groups that might be overused during exercise or because of bad posture. A few benefits of flexibility training are as follows:

? Improved physical performance and decreased risk of injury.

? Reduced muscle soreness and improved posture.

? Reduced risk of low back pain.

? Increase blood and nutrients to tissues.

? Improved muscle coordination.

Flexibility is one of the key components to an exercise program and should be done on a regular basis. If you do not stretch, please start.
