A portion of Main Street downtown will be closed Thursday during the Fourth of July parade that begins at noon.

Stevens Point Police say Main Street will be closed from 9 a.m. until after the parade is over.

The Main Street will be closed from its intersection with Centerpoint Drive and Main Street to the downtown Square. Crosby Avenue also will be closed from the intersections of Water Street and Portage Street so parade floats can exit the area.

The parade is scheduled to last an hour and a half.
