Letter: Thanks to city for keeping Edgewater

Residents at Edgewater Manor want to thank everyone who spoke on our behalf at the June 17 Common Council meeting about the sale of the building. We especially want to thank the council members who understand our plea and voted 10 to 1 not to sell Edgewater at this time.

There has been a lot of speculation as to what will be done with Edgewater and we residents and the Common Council members finally have a clear picture of our future here. We are happy that it will be kept for what it was originally built, for senior citizens who want to remain independent.

To make it clear, current residents want to let people know that we are happy to have this place to live. We are like family and genuinely care for each others well being.
