Ministry participates in disaster training
Ministry Health Care and Affinity Health System sent 29 staff members from Wisconsin to a weeklong training program June 10 to 14 at the Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, Ala.
CDP, which is fully funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, provides emergency responders with the skills to respond to and manage disaster incidents.
During its training week, Ministry and Affinity staff members participated in a disaster simulation. Multiple attacks on a subway system required staff members to triage and treat more than 300 patients, who were portrayed by role players and manikins. Participants engaged in patient triage, patient tracking, hazardous materials, caring for patients and incident command activities during the exercise.
