Pipe issues leave Legion Park baby pool closed indefinitely

As children and adults enjoy the adjacent big swimming pool at Legion Park in De Pere, broken-up concrete surrounds the dolphin statue on one end of the dry baby pool Thursday afternoon, June 27. The wading pool has been closed and under repair since the start of the summer season in early June because of cracks that were discovered in underground pipes.

The baby blue dolphin is without its summertime companions.

De Pere officials have been trying to get to the bottom of a disturbance that has left the wading pool at Legion Park empty - of young occupants and the water in which they like to splash.

The small pool has been closed since the city's outdoor swimming venues opened last month. Cracks in at least two pipes underneath the pool were found during recent inspections. ...
