Private displays up and down the shoreline of the Peninsula complemented the municipal fireworks displays marking Independence Day on Thursday, and Fish Creek will be adding to the pyrotechnics on Saturday.

Fireworks celebrating the 237th anniversary of the United States' Declaration of Independence from Great Britain were set off in Egg Harbor on Wednesday night and then Thursday night in Sturgeon Bay, Washington Island, Maplewood, Gills Rock and Baileys Harbor.
