Appleton neighbors worried about traffic, parking, size

A group of residents filed a petition last month against a 180-unit apartment project on Appleton's Fox River, arguing the development will destroy the neighborhood's charm as tenants and traffic move in.

Developers want to construct the five-building complex on a prime piece of city land that formerly housed the Foremost Dairy factory. Work on the $15 million to $25 million project could start this year if the project gets the green light.

But neighbors say the rental units will obstruct the view of the river, and increase traffic and parking headaches in the area near Lawrence University. ...
