Lawrence Below was a young man when he entered the Korean Conflict in 1950.

He was a member of the 45th Oklahoma National Guard (known as the 45th Thunderbird Division).The division was sent to Fort Polk, La. From there, his journey took Below through the Panama Canal, on to San Francisco and then to Japan.

After eight months of training, his division was shipped across the Pacific to Korea. ...
