Just after the final fireworks burst from the Riverfront celebration down the road and rose over the left field fence at Bukolt Park, Pat Perner drew one of the biggest cheers of the night.

His single to right with one out in the eighth inning scored Dillon Schmenk from second just ahead of a relay throw from right fielder Jordan Huehnerfuss give the Stevens Point Legion baseball team a 5-4 extra-inning win over Wausau in the Firecracker Classic.
