After slow start, pool attendance in south metro area climbs with temperatures

Cool weather delayed this year's swimming season at south metro area aquatic centers, and as a result, attendance numbers aren't on par with last year's records.

Amy Lalls has been the pool manager at the Rothschild/Schofield Aquatic Center for the past five years. Average daily attendance at the pool varies between 300 and 400 people, and since opening June 8, about 6,800 people have taken a dip at the pool. By this time last year, 7,500 people had visited.

In the first week in Julythis year, when temperatures averaged between 75 and 80 degrees, more than 700 people visited the Weston Aquatic ...
