Donated time denied for sick county worker

A Door County employees group's request to donate their unused personal time off (PTO) to a fellow worker who has used all of their vacation and sick leave due to a serious illness was denied at a recent County Board Administrative Committee meeting.

Because of federal and state privacy laws, the identity of the employee was not revealed at the meeting.

The workers making the request are members of a union bargaining group representing staff at the Door County Government Center, the former courthouse in downtown Sturgeon Bay. ...
