Area businesses pass tobacco compliance checks

Results of the 2013 tobacco compliance checks completed in June show all Marshfield businesses that sell tobacco products are following state laws.

"I'm very happy with the Marshfield results. The retailers can be congratulated. They are doing a good job and working hard to prevent tobacco sales to minors," said David Wille, central Wisconsin coordinator for Wisconsin Wins, a research-based campaign to reduce youth access to tobacco funded by the state.

Wisconsin law prohibits the sale of any tobacco product to a person under the age of 18. ...
