A Sturgeon Bay woman was injured in a head-on collision at 9:43 a.m. July 3 in the town of Nasewaupee.

Scott Skarda, Houston, was driving north on County PD when Alisha Kaley Sloan, 20, traveling south on County PD, turned into his path while attempting to make a left turn onto Stagg Road, according to a Door County Sheriff's Department accident report.

The vehicles struck each other head-on; Sloan's Chevrolet Beretta rotated counterclockwise and came to rest in the east ditch of County PD. After impact, Skarda's Chevrolet Suburban sport utility vehicle continued in a northeast direction, striking pine trees owned by Steve Simonar.

Sloan was medically transported with what the report listed as incapacitating injuries. She was also cited for failing to yield while making a left turn and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

Skarda was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
