Slight risk for severe weather

50 percent chance of rain forecast becomes 100 percent

The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center issued a "Slight Risk" notice for possible severe weather today across portions of the central and northern Plains. The NWS stated conditions will be in place for the development of supercells and bow echos. Storms will persist into the overnight hours as they move east toward the Midwest.

The NWS in Green Bay had said there was a "50 percent" chance of precipitation Monday for the city of Manitowoc but heavy rain began to fall after 6 a.m.
