Name: Alisia Jones

Residence: Wausau

Age: 14

School: Wausau West High School

Family: Parents, Todd and Kisha Jones; sisters, Karissa and Jaz, brother, Treyvon

Years of service as a volunteer: two

Favorite volunteer activities: Parent Night volunteer helping with childcare at G.D. Jones Elementary School; running a cakewalk activity at the YMCA Halloween party; working in the Homecoming concession stand for Wausau West Key Club; junior staff member at Boys and Girls Club of the Wausau Area - front desk help, lunchroom sign-in, supervision in the game room, art room and computer lab.

Tell about a volunteer experience: Volunteering is a great way to show people in the community that you really care about helping others and aren't just doing it to get money. I think volunteering will help me get a job someday. When I grow up, I want to be a doctor. I'll see different people every day and will need to have confidence talking to new people. Volunteering will help me build that confidence. It is also a way to meet new people, make new friends and find out about the kinds of volunteer service that other people do.
