Dworak, Opelt top finishers in the first-time event

The inaugural St. Norbert College Firecracker Run/Walk on the Fourth of July last week had 230 participants.

"Hopefully, this event will become part of the community for years to come," said Don Augustine, St. Norbert's cross-country/track and field coach who organized the event.

"People should not have to drive down to Kaukauna or up to Door County on the Fourth of July for a quality event, and that is why we decided to do the run on the Fourth," added Augustine, making reference to other road races held in Northeastern Wisconsin on Thursday. ...
