Dispatch transition clearing the path for municipal court

Stevens Point's dispatchers moving to Portage County's Communications Center could create the space for a municipal court, which would put more money into the city's pocket.

The now empty dispatch area under City Hall could house a municipal judge and other staff members as part of the arrangement, Stevens Point Police Chief Kevin Ruder told the city's Police and Fire Commission on Tuesday.
