The Wausau School District has enlisted an architectural firm with school design expertise to help it make crucial long-term decisions on which schools can be renovated and which could be closed.

Administrators, parents, teachers and other stakeholders in the future of Wausau schools have been working for two years as part of the district's Facilities Utilization Task Force. The group was formed to grapple with issues such as aging school buildings, crowding in some schools, excess room in others and the need for flexible learning space in a modern educational era.
