103 teams youth softball tournament kicks off today

A total of 103 girls teams, covering five age divisions, will take part in the Amature Softball Assocation Junior Olympic Class B softball tournament this weekend in the Wausau area.

The Wisconsin Amateur Softball Assocation's largest youth tournament in the state begins today and will be played on 13 fields in four areas. It's the second straight year that the tournament, which will conclude Sunday, has been held in Wausau and third time in the last decade.

Both the U10 and U18 tournaments will be held at D.C. Everest, and the U10 is the largest bracket with 33 teams entered. The U16 field will ...
