Students get glimpse of athletic training career

Central Wisconsin high school students have been preparing for careers in athletic training this summer through a free course offered by Marshfield Clinic Sports Medicine.

Katie Luttropp, a Marshfield Clinic athletic trainer and one of the course instructors, said the 25 participants are learning athletic training involves more than just taping ankles and handing out bags of ice.

"We wanted to give the kids an opportunity to find out what we do as a profession, and if this is something they're interested in, they could do it for their future careers," she said. ...
