Boat comes unhitched, sails through intersection

An Evaston, Ill. man lost his boat on a trailer that careened through an intersection in the town of Baileys Harbor at 8:50 a.m. July 5.

Glenn W. Caan Jr., 48, was traveling east on County F pulling a boat on a trailer behind his Dodge Ram pickup when the trailer came off the truck and went through the intersection with Guy Street, according to a Door County Sheriff's Department accident report.

The trailer struck a utility pole in the front yard of 2401 County F. When the trailer came unhooked, it also struck the right rear of the truck, damaging the truck. The utility pole was severely damaged. ...
