The Kewaunee County American Legion team held a 5-2 lead after five innings, but Sturgeon Bay roared back with four runs in the sixth and six in the seventh to defeat the Lakers 12-7 on July 10 in Luxemburg.

The loss dropped Kewaunee County to third place at 5-4 in the East Division of the Fox River Valley American Legion Baseball League, behind Chilton (6-2) and Sturgeon Bay (5-3).

Dan Dorner and Sam Koss each had a pair of hits for the Lakers, but the Bays' Casey Giesseman was the hitting star of the game, going 4-for-4 including a game-tying three-run home run in that fateful sixth inning. ...
