Born in 1922, I have lived through many changes in agriculture.

One of my earliest recollections is the bank crash of 1929, as described by my grandfather. The president of the State Bank of Francis Creek told him that, if there was no run on the bank by depositors, he would be able to forestall closure. The depositors held the State Bank open, and the community was saved from economic disaster.
