Woman sentenced in heroin distribution ring

A Black Creek woman will spend a year in federal prison for her role in a heroin distribution ring in Lincoln and Marathon counties.

Rose Kirmsse, 32, was sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman in Madison. Kirmsse, who was convicted on charges she conspired with Jennifer Roper and Leanna Wells to distribute heroin from October 2010 to November 2011, was also sentenced to five years probation following her release from prison.

Roper was sentenced on June 11 to one year in federal prison, to be followed by three years supervised release, for her involvement in the distribution ...
